Cellular Bioenergetic Osteopathy
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE PERICARDIUM.
Due to its multiple physical and neurological insertions, any reaction of the pericardium has far-reaching effects throughout the body. It is intimately linked to the heart, diaphragm, pleura, trachea, oesophagus, the entrance of the stomach, the main veins and arteries, the phrenic centre (responsible for breathing), the stellate ganglion (essential in the regulation of the autonomic nervous system), the base of the cranium, the intercraneal membranes, the thyroids and thymus gland. It also has several ligaments which connect it directly to the spine from sacrum to cranium. Cellular bioenergetic osteopathy works on different levels, taking into account the person as a whole and the possible emotional and spiritual causes of pain. Through subtle movement of the fascia (connective tissue), the root problem is found; this is where the flow of vital energy is blocked. Once the root problem has been unblocked the pericardium is also unblocked. Finally each of the pericardium´s insertions in the spine, cranium, intercraneal membranes, glands, etc are unblocked.
The treatment involves the physical, visceral, metabolic, emotional, psychological and spiritual planes. The result is deep relaxation and harmonization of the entire organism, and the strengthening of its innate self-healing capacities.
CELULLAR BIOENERGETIC OSTEOPATHY
Cellular Bioenergetic Osteopathy highlights the impact of our emotional wellbeing on our health as a whole, as well as the protection mechanisms of the heart against these emotional impacts. These mechanisms begin in the pericardium, an assembly of tough membranes which surround, protect, and support the heart.
In the mediastinum (space between the lungs) the heart is the most important vital organ. It is also the receiver and catalyser of our emotional and spiritual lives. When faced with fear or any other threat the pericardium reacts by contracting, allowing the heart to continue beating to keep us alive.
